SANTA ROSA, Ca. - Nov 17, 2004 - EndRun Technologies, a leading provider of precision time and frequency products, today announced the introduction of the Tempus LX Network Time Server. The new high-performance Tempus LX is a standalone Stratum 1 NTP time server for TCP/IP-based networks and will deliver accurate time throughout any system running an NTP or SNTP client.
The Tempus LX CDMA Network Time Server derives reliable and secure time directly from the CDMA mobile transmissions via a newly-designed dual-band receiver capable of receiving either the Digital Cellular (800 MHz) or the PCS (1.9 GHz) signals. The Tempus LX then distributes the time over the network using the Network Time Protocol (NTP). The Tempus LX supports NTP v.2, v.3, v.4, offers secure remote control, high bandwidth capability, and is easy, safe, and cost-effective to install. The Tempus LX includes a friendly keypad and display, and a three-year warranty with money-back guarantee. Optional oscillator upgrades are available as well as a Japanese version.
"Network operations require time synchronized information to ensure optimal network performance," said Greg Kret, EndRun Technologies Director of Sales. Precise timing benefits the auditing and monitoring of network log files. A lack of precise synchronization creates considerable difficulty when ordering events and troubleshooting root-cause problems. A network time server solves this problem by keeping the clocks on a wide variety of network devices very closely synchronized. In addition, the use of the CDMA transmissions as the synchronization reference for the Tempus LX provides several distinct advantages over typical time servers which derive time from the GPS satellite system. The reception of the CDMA signals requires only a small cellular antenna mounted safely inside your building. This eliminates the high cost of installing an outdoor GPS antenna and subjecting your network to potential damage caused by lightning strikes."
The Tempus LX CDMA Network Time Server is the latest addition to EndRun Technologies family of network time servers that includes the Tempus LX GPS, and Unison GPS and CDMA models.
The Tempus LX CDMA Network Time Server is available now. More information can be found at www.endruntechnologies.com.
