Santa Rosa, California, September 23, 2002 - EndRun Technologies, the leader in cutting-edge time and frequency products, announces the release of their CDMA2000-capable software for all their CDMA-based products. Over the next 18-24 months many mobile communications providers will begin to implement the enhanced CDMA2000 format in their cellular transmissions. The extended CDMA format allows for faster data transmission rates and will provide cell phone users with the ability for internet access and video streaming.
Proactively, EndRun Technologies has released the latest version of software for all of its Praecis CDMA products. These products receive timing information from the mobile communications transmissions in order to provide accurate time and frequency information to various precision timing applications. The new software version will allow for the seamless operation of Praecis equipment as the cell phone providers migrate from CDMAOne to CDMA2000 1X and CDMA2000 1xEV-DO.
All Praecis CDMA-based instruments shipped as of September 19, 2002 include this latest version of software. Existing customers with equipment received prior to this date may download the new software via the internet at www.endruntechnologies.com/support/software-upgrades. As always, EndRun Technologies provides software upgrades freely to their customers.
Although CDMA2000 1xEV-DO is only in market trials in the United States, Praecis users are encouraged to download the new CDMA2000-capable software at their earliest convenience in order to avoid any interruption in the operation of their equipment.
