EndRun Technologies Announces New GPS-Disciplined Ultra-Stable Quartz Oscillator

Santa Rosa, CA, February 20, 2009 - EndRun Technologies, a precision time and frequency company, today announced the Low-Phase-Noise Ultra-Stable Quartz Oscillator (US-OCXO) for the Meridian Precision GPS TimeBase.  The US-OCXO was designed specifically to provide 1,5,10MHz Ultra-Low-Phase-Noise outputs with close-in phase noise of 10MHz better than -110dBc/Hz @ 1Hz offset.  The newest addition to the wide range of options in the Meridian make it ideal for military, commercial, broadcast, and telecommunications radio systems that employ radio frequency up-conversion.

"The high spectral purity of the Meridian coupled with the US-OCXO solves communication system problems for our customers."  says Michael Korreng, a Senior Design Engineer at EndRun Technologies.  "Poor phase noise will degrade Bit-Error Rate (BER) in phase-modulated radio systems and transmit wideband noise at other frequencies.  Regardless of regulatory or design criteria, the increased demand for the radio frequency spectrum requires the highest performance with less interference.  The US-OCXO is the best-in-class and the first step in solving this problem."

US-OCXO Summary at 10MHz locked to GPS:

  • Frequency Accuracy: <1x10-13
  • Allan Deviation @ 1 sec: <6e-13
  • Allan Deviation @ 10 sec: <1e-12
  • Phase Noise @ 1 Hz: -110 dBc

The Low-Phase-Noise Ultra-Stable OCXO and the Meridian TimeBase are available now.  Other TimeBase products including Frequency Distribution are available.  Call 1-877-749-3878 for more information or go to www.endruntechnologies.com.
